I am fortunate to be able to have a customer that retains me to create several PhotoArt illustrations every month for print ads that appear in several publications geared to the market they serve. Most advertisers opt to create a single stock ad that they run over and over which over time disappears on the page to the reader because their eyes are looking for something new and different than the last issue they read through.
My PhotoArt approach has developed into the reader/customer specifically looking through the publication to find the ad. Keeping content fresh is critical to keeping the reader and customer engaged. Engaged customers are return customers, which is a win for the client and a win for me as an artist.
Here are a couple examples:
Imagine the scene: a pair of Douglas A-26 Invaders under the direction of a Forward Air Controller flying a Cessna O-2 Skymaster attacking a suspected Truck Park along the Ho Chi Minh Trail somewhere along the Cambodian and South Vietnam border. Secondary explosions light up the already moonlit sky as confirmation that “Charlie” was indeed there making his way along the trail in a resupply convoy.
A pair of A-26s pulverize an enemy command center sitting atop of a hill overlooking a critical supply road. Attacking from different directions, multiple types are expended to root out the enemy from its position.
The ads have led to other projects such as Christmas and Customer Appreciation cards as well as T-Shirt designs. So the next time you’re looking for something unique to capture your customers attention…let meĀ assist you in designing you an Images By Hawkeye original PhotoArt creation.
